Remodeling Process

1. After making a decision as to what work you want to have done, gather some ideas about your needs and wants.
2. Make a budget for your project.
3. Choose a contractor (make sure they are licensed, insured and bonded).
4. Design and bid on the project.
5. Make sure bid or proposal is clear on all materials needed to finish the job, as well as timeline, completion date and progress payments, then sign proposal.
6. Get any permits needed for project.
7. Order any materials needed for project (make sure all materials are available or on-hand before starting project in order to avoid delays).
8. Prepare the house for construction (move any breakable items; contractor should cover furniture and flooring).
9. Demolition of area where work will be done.
10. Construction.
11. Final touches and clean-up.
12. Final walk-through with contractor and final payment.
